We as health professionals often focus on the benefit of exercise as a method of mitigating stress and anxiety. Most of us have been in sports environments and gyms for a large portion of our lives and find the atmosphere comfortable and engaging.
However, this isn’t the same for everyone, and we must acknowledge that in those less experienced with exercise environments, the gym itself may be a cause of anxiety.
A recent study looked at strategies for addressing this.
